27/9/08: It's now just 22 hours after we welcomed the first of 160 guests to the ball, I'm full of a cold, no voice, trying to stay awake long enough to see tea-time - but wouldn't change it for the world.

The ball took place, and was a fantastic success. At a rough count, the event raised a massive £1,300 which will then be matched by BAE SYSTEMS Charity Challenge - taking the total donated to BHF and CRY to that amount each.

This couldn't have been achieved without fantastic support by many people in lots of ways. By no means an exhaustive list includes Gary & Will (AKA MadMcs Discos - check out that Dirty Dancing lift!!!), Ann Seed of the Bay Tree Florist Longridge, Tony Lawrenson - Photographer Extraordinaire, the very talented artist Miss Shazia Hafiz, The BAE SYSTEMS Field Service Reps and their respective RAF Stations, and dozens of others all of whom dedicated themselves to our cause.

By no means least, also the support of my fantastic wife Debs.

Thank you one and all.

24/9/08: From planning the ball 15 months in advance we're now at just two days to go. As far as we know, everything is sorted out - if not then maybe it's time to stop worrying about it!

We've sold 161 tickets, to people who want to be there (others know who they are).

We've got some fantastic raffle prizes and auction items, so bring plenty of loose change along - see you on Friday!!!

7/8/08: Fifty days to go to the big event, I've just worked out how to tie a proper bow tie(!) so all's well.

Some fantastic news on raffle prizes as well.

20/7/08: Time's getting closer, even though it's just over eight weeks away, more and more tickets are selling and most of the plans are coming together now! I'm beginning to get excited!!!

8/6/08: Just to make it even easier to join in, you can now buy your tickets online. It's safe and easy - all you need to do is fill in and submit the online form. I'll send you an email back with a Paypal button. Click the link and pay with Paypal - just like buying from thousands of companies worldwide.

26/05/08: Loads of things are going ahead at the moment in preparation for the ball. Ticket sales are ongoing, but we need to fill more seats - if you're thinking of coming: Please let us know!

Thanks to the staff of The Body Shop in Bury for their fantastic Donation, it's really really appreciated.

You can now make donations using Paypal on this website. It's safe and secure, and works from anywhere in the world. Paypal charge a very small amount, but all the rest will be split equally between BHF and CRY.

17/05/08: It's been a fair old while since the last update, but the good news is that everything is 100% on track for a fantastic party. Tickets are now available and roughly half have been sold. It's not too late, but don't hang about - email or contact me now to reserve yours. A £10 deposit will guarantee your place, with the balance due later.

Many thanks to those who have pledged and donated prizes so far, including BAE SYSTEMS Heritage Group, BAE SYSTEMS Tornado Social Club, RAF Leuchars, Preston Marriott, the Body Shop and last but not least The Bay Tree florist in Longridge. If you would like to contribute in any way, again please don't hesitate to get in touch.

27/01/08: We've been enquiring about suit hire for our little fella', as it only seems fair he should fit the part. As an unexpected consequence, we've found a couple of very helpful local places with a fairly reasonable chance of  a deal price. Let us know if you're interested.

20/01/08:  Now we're into the new year, the big day is only a few months away and preparations are well underway. Tickets are available, lots of people have been asking - don't wait until it's too late.

20/7/07 20:32:   As an opener, a quick note from me to thank my wife Debs for all the support and help she's given in starting off the planning for the event, from having the get-up-and-go to search out a venue, to having the inspiration to put ideas into plan. Thanks for everything!!!
